What is the game format and how long would the games be approximately?The game format is best of three sets, with the first one being up to 25 and the tie-breaker set up to 15. Games are expected to take approximately 45-60 minutes to be completed.

Where will the games take place?The games will take place at two beauitful hard (not beach) volleyball courts located at The Hangar by Downsview Park, 75 Carl Hall Rd, North York, ON M3K 2B9.

What ages is this for?Similarly to our flagship basketball league, we primarily target students and young professionals in the 18 to 30 age range. However, the league is open to all Jewish adults and we welcome all ages 18+

How many players would it be per team?Teams must have a minimum of 8 players on the roster and a maximum of 12. 6 players play on the court per each team at any given moment of the game

Will men and women play together?No, there are two separate leagues. Men's league will start on June 2 and Women's league will start on June 9, rotating weekly to play 7 weeks each.

How many players are allowed on each team?Each team can have a roster of 8-12 players, with the option to include an older player-coach if desired.

Where and when are the games held?Games are scheduled on Sunday nights from 8:00 to 10:00 pm and on Tuesday nights from 8:30 to 10:30 pm. The games take place at two top-tier indoor gyms located in the same building: King Heights Academy and David's Ann Athletic Centre.

What are the rules and time limits for the games?The league adheres to official FIBA rules for 5x5 basketball. Game time consists of 2 halves, each lasting 20 minutes, with a running clock. Additionally, there's a 5-minute warm-up, a 5-minute halftime, and 2 time-outs per team per half. This totals one hour per game. In case of overtime, the first overtime is 5 minutes, with subsequent overtimes being 2 minutes each.

How frequently does each team play?Teams participate in one game per week, either on a Sunday or Tuesday night. The regular season spans 21 weeks.

What perks do registered players receive?Players who complete registration and payment by October 1st will receive a high-quality custom NBA-style jersey featuring their name and chosen number, with an approximate value of $70.

Will the games be officiated?Yes, the games will be officiated by qualified referees.

What's the cost to participate in the league?The early bird pricing stands at $275 per player for the entire 6-month season, averaging out to roughly $10 per game night. This fee encompasses all the benefits and perks provided, including a high-quality custom Jersey worth $70, refs, standings, awards and prizes. After Rosh Hashana (Sept 15) the price will go back to $325 a player.

Can my team choose a preferred game night?All teams are expected to be available to play on both Sunday and Tuesday nights unless otherwise arranged with the league commissioner (Yair Shpiler). The scheduling system is designed to ensure equitable rotation between nights and gyms, allowing for an equal number of matchups against each team.

What is an FAQ section?An FAQ section can be used to quickly answer common questions about your business like "Where do you ship to?", "What are your opening hours?", or "How can I book a service?".

How does the championship tournament work?The top 4 teams from the regular season will participate in an exciting double elimination championship tournament. The final championship game will take place on Tuesday, April 16th, at the David Ann Athletic Centre.

How can I access my team's schedule and details?You can conveniently access your team's schedule, exact game times, and locations through the TeamLinkt App and our Jewnity.ca website.

How many games does the regular season consist of?The regular season ensures that each team plays a total of 21 games. This is achieved through a Triple Round-robin format.

Will I play on both Sunday and Tuesday nights?No, you will play on one designated night per week. The game night rotation is structured to ensure fairness and variety. After completing a full round of 6 games (which includes playing each of the three other teams in your house twice), the game night will rotate to the other night. This means you'll experience 6 weeks of games on one night, and then the game night will switch to the other night for the subsequent 6 weeks. This rotation continues throughout the season.

Are there additional social events for participants?Certainly! The league has organized two social events: a kickoff BBQ and an official Media Team Day, where you'll get the NBA star treatment with exciting photography sessions. Additionally, there will be a unifying Friday night dinner event to bring everyone together.

Is there a break during the season?Yes, the league will have a scheduled break for the winter holidays. Games will pause on December 12 and resume on January 7, 2024, providing a three-week break for the winter holidays.

To which causes will the proceeds from the tournament be directed?Mental Health Initiatives with Yad Dovid The funds will support mental health initiatives led by Yad Dovid. This includes programs focused on education, awareness, mentorship, therapeutic guidance, and a rabbinical board that fosters an environment of care and understanding. The goal is to make a positive impact, provide support for those facing mental health challenges, and contribute to the prevention of heart-wrenching situations within families. Our Kids Project by Jewnity Sports A portion of the proceeds will also go towards the Our Kids project by Jewnity Sports. This project is dedicated to bringing a dozen Israeli teenagers who have lost one or both of their parents since the war started. The program offers them an unforgettable sports journey in Toronto and Miami, featuring high-level training with world-renowned coaches, NBA games, city attractions, and a Shabbat experience. The aim is to provide these young individuals with a transformative experience and support during challenging times.

Will there be referees for the games?Absolutely. Certified referees will oversee all the games, ensuring fair play and maintaining the integrity of the competition.

Are there any perks for participating teams?Certainly! Each player will receive custom-designed shirt, adding a personalized touch to the tournament experience. Additionally, standout moments on the court will be captured in highlight videos, creating lasting memories for all participants.

How many players can my team have?We recommend having 4 players to give everyone time to rest and avoid possibility of not having enough guys for a game. You can sign up with three guys as well.

Is there a team package? How much is it?Yes, you can sign up a full team of 4 for the cost of of $288 ($72 each) VIP Lounge access is sold on an individual basis, for an extra $288 a player.
